In the right combination of unfortunate events, anyone can find themselves displaced, with no place to call home. Tragically, those enduring the trauma of homelessness remain one of the most underserved groups in our community.
Fresh Start Village, our transitional housing program for women and children, is more than just a shelter—it’s a supportive community that empowers families on their journey to independence. Through comprehensive services, including life skills workshops, job readiness training, financial planning, and access to essential resources, we provide the tools for lasting stability. In 2024, Fresh Start Village served 91 adults and 70 children, with 69 families successfully transitioning into stable housing and a brighter future.
Anyone can end up without a home if things go wrong. Unfortunately, people who are homeless often don’t get the help they need in our area.
Since 1989, PCM has worked to help people break the cycle of homelessness. Our Fresh Start Village is a place where people can feel safe, get support, and start to rebuild their lives. It’s a place to feel hopeful and cared for. We also help people get access to important resources like food, clothing, and healthcare.
If you’re facing homelessness, PCM is here to help. From financial planning and job search support to life skills training and community connections, we provide the tools you need to move forward. A better future is within reach—let’s take that step together!

The Fresh Start Village is for single women and single mothers with children. But we also help anyone who is experiencing homelessness. If someone doesn’t qualify for Fresh Start Village, we help them and a nearby shelter and arrange for things like food, transportation, and other basic needs.
The goal of PCM is to make our community safer and healthier for everyone. Right now, we focus on immediate needs, like protecting people from the dangers of living on the streets or going hungry. For mothers, it means their children have a safe place to stay while they work on building a better future.
Our program also helps people with things like managing money, reducing debt, learning life skills, and finding long-term housing. This gives people the tools they need to start over and improve their lives.
PCM is always happy when a resident is able to leave Fresh Start Village and begin an independent life for themselves and/or their families. To support this new chapter, we ensure they have the basic necessities for housekeeping, and we say goodbye with a House Warming basket. To make sure these baskets fulfill their purpose, we need your help.
These items include things such as:
PCM provides a 2-3 day supply of groceries to families in crisis once a month up to five times in any given one-year period. To qualify for assistance, households must provide.
